ABOUT THIS COFFEE
“Garden coffee” grown in the semi-forests of Guji is usually organic by default, although they are not officially certified as so, and fertilized by the natural organic matter on the forest floor. Guji coffee is either washed or naturally processed, and this lot was harvested at farms from elevations of 1,900-2,1000masl. Over 300 smallholders contributed to this coffee, which was naturally processed and dried for 3-5 weeks before the cherries were hulled. Roasters can look forward to intense fruit flavors and bright acidity that completely puts Guji coffee in a class of its own among all the outstanding neighboring Ethiopian coffees.
