COFFEE TALK
We don't often carry a wide variety of coffees from this region because they have a tendency to be vegetal in flavor. When we're drinking coffee, we want it to taste like coffee, not tomato soup. It's important to mention that there are exceptions to every rule. This Kenya is that exception. It's got body, sweetness, and fruit all in one cup! I think it's best on Pour Over, but the batch brewer is also quite nice.

ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Our Thikagiki AA microlot was produced by the Thikagiki Farmers Co-Operative Society in Kenya's, Kiambu County. The Thikagiki Co-op represents nearly 490 farmers with an average farm size of 390 hectares. This microlot is comprised of mostly SL 28, SL 34 with some Ruiri 11 and Batian.

Timely and selective hand picking is carried out in Thikagiki. Cherry is delivered to wet mill the same day it is picked. Cherry sorting is carried out at the wet mill prior to the pulping. Red ripe cherries are separated from underipes, overipes and foreign matter. Processing utilizes clean river water (wet processing) that is recirculated before disposal into seepage pits. Sun drying on raised tables is done before delivery of the coffee to the dry mill for secondary processing.
