It's coffee roasting competition season and we've been having a lot of fun at the roastery fine-tuning our submissions for Golden Bean North America 2023! This is the largest coffee roasting competition in the world and we're excited to throw our coffee-filled hats into the ring. We're doing something a little different this year and wanted to bring you all along for the ride. 

 

In addition to the usual suspects, we've developed two limited edition competition blends that will feature some amazing new coffees that have proved to be quite the heavy hitters in terms of balance, complexity, and vibrancy.

 

The second blend, dubbed Feedback Loop, has been designed with intention to shine as our alternate espresso. For this blend we've combined our D.R. Congo with the Sumatra Karo Highlands to create a deep, rich, and complex bottom end with a syrupy body and brown sugar and molasses finish. The overall balance and sweetness is what won all of us over and we are excited to share it with all of you.
Our recipe for this espresso was formulated using a traditional 1:2 ratio. In our case, that means 18 grams in and 36 grams out at 28 seconds. 
If you're unable to prepare espresso, fret not... This blend is amazing on filter.
